True; I think I quoted your comments on this on my Web page about
installing Guide on Win7 and Vista machines. But I _thought_ I'd fixed
Guide so that this workaround was no longer necessary, so that Guide
"just worked". It looks as if my fix needs to be fixed.
I think I've fixed up the downloading routine so it won't create that
blizzard of warning dialogs when it can't get a file. It's tougher to
get around the fact that the artificial satellite files really _are_
missing... at least, they are from www.tle.info, the site Guide has
been using for artsat elements.
But I do have a workaround. At least right now, it appears that the
artsat elements are still available at www.idb.com.au, and with a little
editing to 'tle.hee', Guide can be persuaded to get artsat elements
from that site. If you're going to update artificial satellite
elements, I'd recommend downloading this file to your Guide folder:
http://www.projectpluto.com/tle.hee
Artsat updating then should start working again.
Of course, I also still have some work to do on NexStar control!
