Hallo Jost,

this should be a problem with your graphics adapter. At home I use true
colour with a dark red (brown) moon during totality (okay the moon is very
dark). Display options are set to Map 2 (Karte Nr.2), contrast low (slider at
left side), brightness high (slider at right side).
At our observatory computer with only 256 colours the eclipsed moon is
completely invisibly (I tried this yesterday evening during realtime animation
centered on the moon, works very well). Outside it was mostly clear with
thick haze and believe it or not: some visitors asked with which telescope
the image at the computer screen has been taken...
