You need to make sure that you go to the tab EXTRAS on Guide after you first use the CD; once you have installed the basic platform, you will choose all the different subjects and applications that are actually on the DVD by clicking on them; once done, "Install to Hard Drive" will take some time to copy all the necessary files.  But until you do that (including the "Minimum..." that is required for your hard drive to even open it after the DVD has been installed), it will not open up on its own.

I installed Guide 9 on my new Windows 8 laptop, and it started up fine.  Closed it down, started it up again, and it says :-

 

GUIDE needs the GUIDE CD-ROM to run.

Check your CD drive and try again.


None of the folders were copied across.  Why ?
