Does it matter which COM port that is assigned to Guide?

Very likely you had Guide deactivated when you plugged some other USB device into your computer and it changed the COM designations.

Is there any reason that you simply cannot use Guide from COM2?

i have been using guide on com 13 for about three years...today guide would Not Connect.
I can get the LX200GPs Handbox to work and also scope tools.
guide will connect on com 2 cable --- any ideas ?
