This is what I wanted. It is in my case not an issue to go deep, as I just need a reference star in the field to position to, then the CCD image goes much deeper depending on the variable of interest, but for the sequence to measure the variables brightness I normally rely on AAVSO sequences or VIZIER catalogues (mainly UCAC4).

MAybe it is a good idea to publish once these undocumented Alt-J and number sequences.
