True; I switched to the GPL (General Public License) for Guide 9. (I've
been using the GPL for Find_Orb and some small projects for a while now.)
It's the same license used for Linux, which is why I (or you) can download
a copy of Linux and use it at no charge. I find that a lot of people in
Windows and Mac-land haven't heard of the GPL, though.
The GPL does mean that if you want to make copies of Guide 9.0 for your
friends, or provide copies at a star party, it's completely legal. Technical
support and printed manuals are still limited to paying customers... but there
are plenty of people who are perfectly fine with those limitations.
