Now, this is strange... :-?

I was looking through my "21stCy Occ'ns of Stars by Planets" ETB file
and noticed that, since updating to the November 30 version, Guide
fails to find many of the occultations listed (even though running the
animation they obviously occur).

I have the November 30 and the August 8 versions now side by side,
and the older version has no problem finding these phenomena.


One example:

Venus occults magnitude 6.6 star PPM 119676
on July 9, 2001, at around 12:29 UT.

I select (right click) Venus, then select the star, then press the
"Show eclipse" button... and the newer version of Guide pops up
a dialog saying "No eclipse found!".

The August 8 version of the program has no problem showing the
map with the area of visibility of this occulation (Europe,
North America and the Arctic, all in daytime).

I checked, and both versions give the exact same numerical
coordinates for both the star and Venus.


You can choose many other examples from the mentioned ETB
file: the new version of Guide fails to predict an occultation
for about half of the entries, yet it does show the occultation
taking place!
