If you're seeing 2011 Aug 16 as a version date, that suggests to me
that you've applied the last Guide _8_ update. (Which is a necessary
step, but not enough.) The thing to do is to go to

http://www.projectpluto.com/new.htm

Because you'll be applying Guide 9.0 software to a Guide 8.0 disk,
you have to go through that extra step; first, bring Guide 8.0 as
up-to-date as possible (which you've now done), _then_ apply the
current Guide 9.0 software.
