Re: [guide-user] Plotting 2012 DA14 in Guide correctly

A good way to plot the NEO tracks in Guide is to use the JPL horizon
system's ephemeris software.

http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/horizons.cgi
Ephemeris Type : OBSERVER
Target Body : Asteroid (2012 DA14)
Observer Location : Hamburg Germany ( 10°01'59.9''E, 53°34'00.1''N )
Time Span : Start=2013-02-15 19:00, Stop=2013-02-16 6:00, Step=1 m
(this is ok for central European sites)

Table Settings : QUANTITIES=1,4,9,20
Display/Output : plain text
Compute the ephemeris for your site, delete the header and footer
sections and create a tdf file.

You can also use my one . Download this file
http://gva-hamburg.de/2012DA14/horizon_guide.zip

and swap my file 2012DA14.txt with your file. If you happen to live
near Hamburg (Germany) you can use my file.
I used that method for previous NEO-passages and also for the Rosetta
spacecraft flyby.
