I'm going to correct myself :)

2012 DA14 will NOT pass through the Earth's shadow, as the orbital geometry isn't quite right on this occasion.

But hypothetically, if it were to pass through the Earth's shadow, would Guide realize this and at least adjust the magnitude accordingly?
