Just out of fun I think that I have found what the reason may have been for the
stop in distribution of the UCAC4 DVDs after the first batch went out.
The DVDs were copied from originals that already had data/information on at
least one of the DVD's (this is a two sided DVD).

Much to our surprise there is a huge collection of private photographs of a USNO
installation as construction progressed....a very nice observatory some time
past. Nearly 100 megs of photos in fact.

In addition, there is over 100 megs of PDF complete files of various USNO
research publications that I would think were inadvertently copied that should
not have been. With those removed, the DVDs are far less memory-cumbersome when
installing.

I strongly suspect that it was discovered that all of these files - nearly 500
(!!) were on the early DVDs distributed and they ceased distribution to remake
disks without those files. Just a guess, but I bet the newer DVDs do not have
those files on them.
