I was routinely checking cometary positions and clicked to update comet
data - not noticing that it was not yet online (it was still waiting for
the router). So that was it! It went into permanent 'download' mode
with multiple boxes complaining. The screen went light grey and could
not be closed down even using task manager. I had to restart the
laptop. Now, I start Guide with the router connected OK but all
attempts to update elements cause a fatal crash.

Using latest G-8 updates. This problem used to happen quite some time
ago if the net connection was not established.
