Comet files can be downloaded from:
http://www.minorplanetcenter.net/iau/Ephemerides/Comets/Soft02Cmt.txt

The asteroids are another matter. I use the "MCPORB.dat" file in my Guide program
but it is a large file 28 megs I believe from:
http://www.minorplanetcenter.net/iau/MPCORB.html

Maybe Clay Sherrod's idea is best.

I don't believe you can turn off the below horizon objects, I find the best thing
to do is to turn on "show ground" in the "background " menu. In the color box make
the ground appear a dark reddish brown color to obscure the objects.

Go to http://www.projectpluto.com/files.htm

find file named "Manual". That is a copy of it.

Hope this helps.
