Re: [guide-user] Re: Error in TLE selection

Looks like that one might be tucked away with a problem in guide9.exe itself, just "missing" by one.

The "*.tle;*.txt" text should be appearing in the next dialogue box down, the file type box, not the filename box. Everything seems to link up okay in the menu.dat files and the like, the "pointers", so I'm guessing it will be in the executable, a slight offset or such.

Dunno, but maybe this is why you're starting in my docs, as the path may be off one too. Some other paper may well be starting in my comp or desktop folders, depending on their individual setup.

The popup dialogue boxes are OS stuff, Guide will parse across info to that, but the file type setting is getting to the file name box (you can delete both and search for tle by eye if you wish) and the Guide path may be getting lost the same way.

Whether this has a knock on effect I do not know, as some things seem to autodownload nowadays so you've to guess whether they did download or not as you didn't do it manually.

Stuff like new comets etc download alright, so maybe just an isolated one...

AHA! It's in Guide9.exe somewhere, if you try to "Add DSS Image" you get the same problem, dialogue box opening in my computer or such and *.fit* entered into the file name box instead of the file type one, so it's a generic windows file dialogue box invocation type thingy, and not a tle type thingy.

Yep, if you try to make a bmp the same missing by one of dialogue boxes occurs (*.bmp in file name box instead of file type box) although ironically that one did open up in the Guide directory...)

Cheers

John
