Hi Jean
Plug your modem into your COM port and try some of these commands found at:
http://www.808hi.com/56k/usehyper.htm
You'll need to get HyperTerminal (should be on your Windows CD.) and then
connect up to COM1. You will need to select the correct port settings for
your modem.
If all goes well you should be able to type something in like AT and you
will receive an OK. Meaning modem is working and more importantly the com
port is sending and receiving.
Remember that when you connect your AAM up to the COM port you will need to
set the port settings to be compatible with the AAM module. This should be
somewhere in the manual.
Celestron are quite bad at explicitly stating this information and I had to
look elsewhere on the web to see if somebody else knew.
Your port settings can be set from Control Panel>System>Device
Manager>Ports>Select a Port the click properties and port settings.
Cheers
James
