Now, I use TheSky for planning my survey's mosaics. I don't use overlapping, you are right - main goal is larger sky coverage. I need to use TheSky or perhaps Guide in the future to avoid bright stars and etc.
I shoot a few mosaics per night, standart mosaic is 4x4, i.e. 400'x400', in my case.
For me, Guide more preferable for me than TheSky and I will be happy to do my survey work with Bill's software.
