I couldn't get the installer to work either, except instead of large
fonts I get a blank dialog box with a single button that you can press
to quit the installation before it even begins.

What I did was to install it in a virtual machine with Windows XP, then
copy over the entire GUIDE9 directory to ~/.wine/drive_c/, add a
launcher, and delete the directory in XP. Guide is nice about installing
itself in a self-contained manner.
