Errrmmm... well, it's on the DVD (the 'misc_dat' folder contains both
usno_b1.tdf and the Italian-language version usno_b1.idf). But it's not
copied over to the Guide folder by default. Copy 'em over, and B1.0 will
appear. Sorry, I should have thought about that being a possible issue.

No, it shouldn't be necessary. I actually don't have the full B1.0;
I just have a few degrees around each pole, enough for testing purposes.
Guide will use whichever zones are available.

You've diagnosed the MPCORB behavior correctly: if the 'Use MPCORB'
button is grayed out, it does mean that Guide can't find a copy of MPCORB.

The two lines in the 'guide.dat' file are the "real" MPCORB_PATH line
(the one Guide uses to figure out where mpcorb.dat is) and a line that
stores the most recently-entered text for that particular dialog box
(i.e., when you hit Alt-J, Guide shows you whatever you entered last).
So you can pretty much just ignore that DLG_3025= line.
