There do seem to be a few out there, though. I occasionally learn
that people are using the program in some ways I hadn't foreseen. There
are a few people using Guide to check out historical eclipses, planetary
alignments mentioned in ancient literature, one gent interested in
checking out observations made by Kepler and Tycho Brahe... things of
that ilk. It's one reason I added a "Local Apparent Time" entry to the
Time Zone menu (LAT corresponds to "sundial time", with the sun due
south of you at 12:00; it's what everyone thought of as "time" a
thousand years or so ago, before good clocks were made.)

Anyway, there's definitely enough interest in historical research to
make it very much "on topic".
