UCAC star at center of galaxy symbol

Bill,
With Guide 9.0, I've noticed something strange. When zoomed in on small field, say one degree or smaller, most of the galaxies display a 3UCAC star at the center of the galaxy.
Seems to be mostly NGC galaxies but not all NGC galaxies have this problem. The dimmer UGC,PGC or LEDA don't seem to have the 'center' star. Do a random check anywhere across the sky and you can see the 3UCAC star plotted at the center of these galaxies.
Is this something like the GSC 'non-star' problem of past?
One other question. Why are all of the dimmer 3UCAC stars plotted in a yellow to orange color? In a dense field displaying down to 15-17th mag stars, the display takes on a yellow-orange overall color because of the many 3UCAC stars being plotted. No big problem, but it just 'doesn't look right'.
Anyone else notice this?
tks, Ben
