I expect to post an update that will fix this issue for both Guides 8
and 9. It'll also add a feature that will, I think, be quite useful:
the "compass" area in the legend will also show a faint outline of the
moon, so you can tell at a glance what the current lunar phase is.
(A very simple improvement I should have added years ago.)

I'm also thinking that the legend area should include a small square
that is black at night, light blue in the daytime, and in-between
shades at twilight. That way, when examining a particular event in
Guide, you can see right away whether the sun is apt to be a problem.

But the current top priority is updating the entire projectpluto.com
site to mention Guide 9 instead of Guide 8. The whole credit card processing
and shipping situation has been going smoothly for a couple of weeks now,
but there's a lot of text to fix on the Web site. Once I've got that done,
I'll turn my attention to posting an update.

At least for a while, updates to Guide 9.0 will be compatible with
Guide 8.0, just as updates to Guide 8.0 were compatible with Guide 7.0.
Of course, without a Guide 9.0 DVD, you won't have full UCAC-3 and
completely updated datasets, and various Guide 9.0 specific features
won't work. But I don't expect to "break" anything involving Guide 8.0
anytime soon.
