Hi Larry,

You _should_ be able to just put the Guide 9 DVD in, click on
Extras... Install to Hard Drive, and select (probably mixed in with
other things) "Two Million Place Names (92 MBytes)".

However, it occurs to me that you've mentioned modifying some
of those files. In that case, if you have Guide 8 installed as,
say, c:\guide8, then there should be a c:\guide8\cities folder
that has the data in question. Make a corresponding folder in your
Guide 9 install, copy it all over, and Guide 9 ought to "see" it.

In this instance, you won't miss out on much by using the "old"
Guide 8 data. The two-million-places data is much as it was before.
So if you want to use your own version, it shouldn't cause trouble.
