“Transaction Declined
The transaction has been declined because of an AVS mismatch. The address
provided does not match billing address of cardholder. “
Anyone knows what “AVS” stands for?
If it only happens with the non-US buyers, it could well have something to
do with the “state/province”-field (I never fill in this one, our whole
country is small enough to fit in the smallest US-state ).
Arturo also mentioned a possible “accents” or “vowels” problem, but my name
and address don’t use these, so can’t be the reason.
So Bill, if you (and we ) don’t find the reason for this error, please
reconsider Paypal... As many people here have stated: it’s the easiest way
to go (maybe too easy, according to my wallet ). Those “phishing”-mails don’t
have anything to do with Paypal, I got as much of them on my other
e-mail-addresses! That’s just the way phishing and spam works...
