After installing the lastest version of Guide 8 on a Windows 7 machine I can't get any updates for comets, etc no matter how I try to do it. Kills the program with following message "GUIDE8 MFC Application has stopped working", closing down the program. The current comet, etc databases reverted to something from way back in time even though the files say otherwise, but of course I can't load those files without killing the program.

To make matters worse it appears there are no previous restore points!

After fighting problems over and over I just don't know what to say anymore. I would rather spend my time setting up for a night of viewing than try to figure out what the latest problems with Guide 8 are and how to work around them.
