This "ought" to work. I do know some people have had success with it.
When running Guide 8 software with a Guide 7 disk, you should have all
the functions and data you had with Guide 7, plus some of the functions
(though sadly none of the new data) that you'd have with Guide 8.

However, my focus has obviously been on Guide 8 (and now Guide 9).
I've not actually run Guide 8 software with a Guide 7 disk in many
years. So I'm hoping someone else will jump in on this subject.
