Glad to hear you test Guide 9 under Wine, that's what I needed to know
to place my order as soon as you start shipping :-)
The latest Guide 8 releases work pretty well under Wine for me, but
occasionally the hypertext windows (for example “Go To Messier” or
“Current Comets”) stop appearing never to be seen again.
You select the any menu option that is supposed to bring up a hypertext
window and none appears, but the program is stuck waiting for you to
interact with a window that doesn't exist. The “close” button disappears
from the main window, so the only option is to kill the process.
When this happens, I found that deleting a file called maximum.dat seems
to fix the problem (I tried renaming all the recently modified files one
by one, and this one worked), so it is no more than a minor nuisance. I
just wanted to know that GUIDE 9 was *still* going to be compatible with
Wine, because I don't have any Windows systems anymore.
