Hi,
just wanted to tell you what I am doing:

(1) First, I go to horizon menu and set the map to the zenith position.
(2) Second, I go to the display menu and to the "ticks, grids, etc" submenu.
(3) I then first tick "zentral crosshair" (to have th exact zenith point), follwed by a click on "add aperture cercle"; I set the apperture cercle to - for instance - 50° from the zenith point (dont forget to change " to °). But you can chose any distance from the zenith.
(4) And now comes the important point: there is a very nice and simple programm, with which you can retrieve objects to be seen by distance from the zenith. It is called NGC 2000 observer - but a lot of other catalogues are integrated) and is written by Marco Menichelli, an Italian, and can be found here: http://www.marcomenichelli.it/
(Go the software menu, -> Mio software, -> NGC 2000 Obs., download and enjoy ... also a foreign language ;-). You can limit the lists generated by magnitude and other criteria, export the lists generated to excel, and retrieve etc.) As indicated, the program is in Italian, but I believe the basic information and numbers given with that programm are international. I like the program a lot in any case, because of it's simplicity (compared to Astroplanner for instance).

don't forget to make correspond the apperture cercle in Guide8 and the distance from zenith in NGC 2000.
