Saturn: moon shadow on ring?

Bernd Brinkmann Mar 30, 2011

Hello Bill,

on a german planetary mailing list an animation was shown that looked like a
shadow of a saturnian moon on the ring.

For me following question arose: Is Guide capable of displaying such an event if
it is really a moon shadow? In this case Tethys is visible in the animation, but
it is behind Saturn, so the moving dark spot on the ring is probaly due to the so
called "spokes". In Guide I can see the shadow of Mimas on Saturn.

Clear skies
Bernd
