Celestron 'Slew Guide' bug fixed (I think!)

Bill J Gray Mar 2, 2011

Hello all,

I took another try at the above-mentioned bug, and found something that
was definitely a bug. (A rather embarrassing bug, actually: I was
checking the error code from a function that was supposed to send a string
of text through the COM port, but mis-interpreted the return value. In
other words, when things worked fine, it decided an error had occurred;
probably, if an error _did_ occur, it would report success.)

Anyway. The fixed version is now at

http://www.projectpluto.com/new.htm

Note that this is an "in-testing" version. As always, please let me
know what you find... specifically about the Celestron bug, but also about
any other issues you see.

I mentioned two other improvements on the 'new.htm' page: better
handling of constellations and (very slightly) improved ephemerides for
the Galilean satellites of Jupiter. There are actually other improvements,
but I'll get around to documenting them later; it'll involve digging
through various notes and e-mails to remind myself of what I've been
doing, and I really wanted to get the Celestron fix out into the world.

Clay, I also made some changes that _might_ address the NexRemote
problem. I'm not so confident on that score, though... that one is
still quite weird.
