Hmmm... it's starting to sound like a more general issue. I'd guess
that the same problem arises when you try to load a mark file, or use
the Extras... Install to Hard Drive feature?

Do you have the first Guide CD-ROM in the drive? If not, I'd suggest
giving it a try, and would be curious to know if that caused the trouble
to go away. (It really shouldn't. But it sounds as if the "list" files
aren't on your hard drive. With the CD-ROM in the drive, Guide will
recognize that fact and load them to the hard drive. After that, the
bug will go away... though I'd still find it disturbing that it happened
in the first place.

Incidentally, am I correct in thinking you've downloaded the current
Guide software from the Web site?
