True enough... I will be posting an update in which, instead of
COM1 through COM9, Guide will show COM1 through COM8 plus an "other"
option, with an edit box allowing one to set higher numbers. (I'd like
to get some feedback on the NexStar issue first, though... and there
is also a bug in bitmapped planet display in PostScript files that
needs a fix.)

Some people did work around this by editing 'startup.mar' and
looking for this line:

42 lx200 pr 3

...and changing it to whichever port they wanted. Not an obvious
thing to do, though, which is why the "Other" option is very much
overdue.
