I am also having the same problem. Recently purchased AS-CG5 goto mount and yesterday was first time to connect Guide. Same problem
Slew scope works
Slew Guide does not. Then I came inside and found this string of messages relating to my new found problem.

This is on an old Dell D600 laptop with Windows XP

Have Guide settings as Com 1 and NexStar type scope. Running Oct 22 version.
