Anyone here used Guide to control a SkyWatcher SynScan AZ?

Hi all,

I've recently purchased a 12" SkyWatcher SynScan AZ, and have had the
opportunity to test it under the stars. Can you believe clear skies
all night the very same day I picked it up? This is a motorized dob
with GOTO, and the accuracy of this thing is very impressive. Now,
being a dob it isn't suitable for photography, but I'd like to combine
the GOTO ability with Guides unsurpassed usefulness for asteroid
observing. The manual claims it to be compatible with a NexStar
telescope, so I tried that setting in Guide. No luck. Then I installed
ASCOM and the Celestron drivers, but still no luck.

I do use a Serial-2-USB adapter, and I'm aware that these tend to be
unreliable. I have however, successfully commanded my ETX-105 using
the same adapter, although this may not amount to very much concerning
the adapter's quality.

So, I was just wondering if anyone here have had any experience with
such a setup, or have any ideas at all?

Best regards,

Arild :)
