thanks for your fast + detailed explanations. Yes, indeed I *was* puzzled by the strange 'old' equinox of the MPCORB.DAT data already. Good to know how MPC ist handling the data, how to integrate the gravitational effects into new elements, and to know the URL for the very latest elements.

I re-calculated with Guide + Clay's new elements and the asteroid position is indeed diplayed perfectly. Excellent.

Actually, Bill, I now re-read your doc in
http://www.projectpluto.com/mpcorb.htm
and - in fact - you basically did point out the problem already there. I just did not think that the deviations would be that large. Amazing. Thanks a lot !!! :-)
