Odd Thing in Perseus

Hi All,

I've been a Guide user since the days of Guide 3, but I'm new to this forum. A couple of days ago, I downloaded the latest update from the Project Pluto website (2010/7/22).

I have two puzzles. Firstly, when I first start Guide, the screen is white, and I have to click on it to get the stars to show (this is not new to the latest version, but started when I got a new computer running Windows 7 64-bit).

The second puzzle is new to the latest version. In Perseus, a huge circle of stars is visible at all zoom levels. The circle includes alpha and delta Per and is about 6 degrees in diameter. Beside each star is its magnitude. Around delta Per is a group of five stars of magnitude 0.1 (!). Right clicking on stars within this circle is also a bit odd. the data for alpha Per is given as -

mag 1.9
B mag 0.0
USNO A2.0 star
alt 24.9 az 40.3
circumpolar
Tran 4:50 GMT (UT)

If I zoom right in, I can see two stars displayed here, the one hidden at the back having the data I expect -

MIRPHAK
mag 1.81 spec F5
NSV 01125
alp Per (fl. 33)
etc.

Anybody else seen this?

Thanks,

Patrick
