Hi Larry,

Eliminating lines from a 'startup' mark can indeed cause all sorts of
trouble. Your best bet is to set up Guide the way you want it, then
save a mark called 'my personal defaults' or something like that.

Some of the _other_ mark files provided with Guide do have missing
lines. At startup time, Guide really does need a full mark file to
ensure that everything gets set. But after that, if you use File...
Load a Mark and load a cut-down mark file, it's not a problem.
