I made the changes you suggested: no results.
It is always the same.
I do not think level 8 is really important, I changed the set of the magnitude limit of the stars and now the "dead line" is at level 4, so I do not think the value of the level be relevant.
Just to recap the standing problems:
Basically when I set the UCAC3 in toggler user datasets... there is a level where, if I go deeply, I cannot see the built in catalogues anymore (I mean: Guide doesn't draw the stars and their labels and I am not able to see the data when I click on the "NEXT" button jumping from a catalogue to the other. Like the built in catalogues do not exist in the HD).
Viceversa, at the same level, if I go to a wider FOV I see the built in catalogues (and related data) but I do not see the UCAC3 stars.
I switched to the English language and I got the same results.
No problems at all with with USNO A2 and UCAC2.
I downloaded the last in test version and the last Italian version from ProjectPluto web site and I did not change anything but the magnitude limit.
That's all I know.
I spent my last three days testing GUIDE and I didn't make any progress.
May be I'm looking in the wrong direction, maybe the "bug" is in an "above suspicion" file.
