Re: [guide-user] Just a little problem

Hi Stefano,
Hmmm... you ought to see the GSC stars at all high-zoom levels. If
you're seeing them at a two-degree field of view, they should also
show up at smaller fields of view.
Try right-clicking on a "disappeared" GSC star, and I think you'll
find it is still there. You may get the UCAC3 or A2.0 version first;
but do a "next" or two, and it will eventually get around to finding
the GSC data.
Some could easily regard this as a bug, not a feature, because it
means you can have the same star shown from two or three catalogs. In
a perfect world, Guide would automagically cross-index stars, and
recognize when a given star came from more than one catalog. It would
then _display_ a single star on the chart; but when right-clicked on,
you'd get data from GSC, UCAC3, and A2.0, plus whatever other
catalogues might be relevant.
I do have some ideas that might let that be possible eventually.
(Guide would show UCAC3 stars first; then, when drawing GSC stars,
it would ask: is this star within (say) 2" of a UCAC3 one? If so,
assume they're the same, and don't draw the GSC version. Then,
when drawing A2.0 stars: is it within (say) 2" of an already drawn
UCAC3 or GSC star? This would be pretty easy to do... had I planned
on such right from the beginning! The threshhold would have to be
user-adjustable.)
