Hello Group,
I hope you dont mind a little self promotion, I started a new yahoo group call TheACNOGroup (ACNO = Any Clear Night Observers) if the name sparks your interest check it out at:
http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/TheACNOGroup/
Below is the purpose of the group
Any Clear Night Observers - A group of amateur / professional astronomers that get out and observe the sky on Any Clear Night. This site is created to let astronomers report, share and support other astronomers with the same passion. Please post your observing reports here and list Date, Times, Conditions, LVM, Place, Objects and comments. Post up-coming astronomy related events! Feel free to post images of you and your scope. Share your expertise with others and promote Any Clear Night Observing world-wide. I hope you all find this group both fun and useful!
Here is a copy of the first post:
Hello Group,
I hope you will find this group to be both useful and fun. To start with a little information is probably in order, so here goes:
This group started as a sub-group of my home club (The Universtity Lowbrow Astronomers) to kind of jump start more activity doing actual observing! I couldn't seem to get anyone in the club to take advantage of any clear night (in Michigan those don't happen that often)for observing. So, I started an email list and I would send out notices to a small interested group that I was going out and then I would post my results ... the group began to grow and now I want to share this with everyone on the net.
Just post the results of your observing sessions here or let the group know when you are planning an observing trip/session or just share your astronomical experiences with others.
Thank You
