One for the deepsky guys, Herbig-Haro type objects

Have said that, not all of these will be optically detectable, and the ones already known as Herbig-Haro objects probably already covered elsewhere, but a new enterprise on emission line objects is this :-

http://www.jach.hawaii.edu/UKIRT/MHCat/

A cobbled together TDF that can be used for these objects plots orangey-red squares (similar in scale to those plotted by the Herbig-Haro TDF that comes with Guide) at the position of the objects, and if nothing else may seriously improve on some of the positions for some HH objects. The above url might generally be of interest to deepskyers interested in nebulae too.

The TDF is sorted on RA and gives MHO identifier, coordinates to J2000, any HH identifier, and cross Id and notes. As with Guide's own HH tdf, a symbol is used, as these things are not particularly to any fixed shape or scale. Using Guide's get images from the internet to download POSS red or infrared plates may give a hint of their visibility.

Download from here.

The topmost url given here has a table of tables for these objects, and each constellation's table has images of each of the object, for those interested. Emission line images, so no real clue as to how they look visually, but these are interesting objects to look at nevertheless. You can click on each image to get a better view.

Cheers
