I can confirm that the same is happening to me after applying the 3 Apr 2010 update.

Using the Extras -> Asteroid/Comet Options, I have checked "Use MPCORB"
Click the Add MPC comets/asteroids option
In the GUIDE Help window use the last choice, "Add MPC asteroids/comets
Locate the Soft02Cmt.txt file and select
Choosing the OK option causes Guide to freeze and opens a Microsoft Error Reporting window. Once the error reporting is complete Guide closes.
