I'm not getting that error with deleting an asteroid or comet.
Which probably means I'm not replicating the error exactly; I
have a different set of objects. Could you please e-mail me the
'comets.dat' file from your Guide folder? And also mention which
one you're clicking on that causes a crash?

As Julian mentioned, one can install Guide to the hard drive
on a DVD-capable machine, then copy that to a USB memory stick,
then to a hard drive. I know some people then just run off the
stick, without even copying it to a hard drive; this can be
quite convenient, since you can carry Guide from machine to machine.
