RE: [guide-user] Update posted

Making the assumption that Guide 9 will still reside entirely in its own
directory, once you have it installed on one machine it should be a simple
task to transfer it in chunks using whatever portable media your other
machines will accept, including burning batches of files to your own CDs.

Hi Bill and group.....
This is a very nice update and I have been working through most of the
changes; I
particularly think that the ability to view all asteroids and comets within
a selected
field of view (for the purposes of confirming the possibility of a new
object) is an
excellent addition.

One note: I am having difficulty since updating (this may be a bug) using
the EDIT
feature for asteroids and comets under the Extras_Asteroid/Comet
Options_Edit
Asteroid/Comet Data_Delete (that is all that I have attempted to do). When I
attempt to
delete a selected asteroid (for example when I have entered one individually
from the MPC
Ephemeris service that no longer is needed), I get an Exception Error and it
closes down
the program completely.

Other than that I see this as a major step forward.

I am, however, a bit worried about the "DVD-only" aspect of the upcoming
Guide9, since
several of my long-time observatory computers are NOT DVD-literate. Do you
have any
suggestions as a work-around in this regard for older CD-only hardware?

As always, your efforts are much appreciated.

Dr. Clay
