Hi Bill and others,

I did play around with the isophote settings and noticed that making
isophotes show as outlines results in particularily nice-looking
printouts. Perhaps this could be made the default setting when
printing.

I'm sure this has occured to you, but the mark system could quite
easily (?) be refined into a powerful settings system. This would
require a hierarchial structure in the mark list, some editing tools
beyond load/save/delete, and predefined mark "styles" (for example, one
for saving sky location only). Then it would be easy to have marks
which would set groups of settings at once for different types of
observing needs. Of course, overlays and user defined datasets would
need to be hooked into this also.

As a theoretical example lets consider Nova Aquilae 1999#2. That mark
would of course have coordinates, but also load an overlay file
identifying the exact spot including labels, toggle the CCD frame and
variable stars on and label stars fainter than mag. 6 with magnitudes.
