Hi Chris,

To get the current GCVS, download

ftp://cdsarc.u-strasbg.fr/pub/cats/B/gcvs/gcvs_cat.dat

(about 6184 KBytes) to your Guide directory. You can then
use Go To... Object Name (or Go To... Star... Variable Star) to
find objects such as V466 And from the 79th (and most recent)
name list of stars.

To get them to _display_, download

http://www.projectpluto.com/gcvs_viz.tdf (about 3 KBytes)

to your Guide folder. This will provide a "GCVS (Vizier)"
user-added dataset, which can be turned on/off and labelled
and so forth.

You may then see most variables duplicated, because the
"old" variables will probably still be on. To stop this, go
to Data Shown and turn variables off there.
