Dunno why Charon wouldn't work in XP. It may be some issue
not actually related to XP.

Best I can suggest is this: I've posted an update to Charon
at http://home.gwi.net/~pluto/charon.zip (about 342 KBytes). The
update includes some workarounds for a video problem reported
some time ago by Clay Sherrod, and the ability to use UCAC-3.

Not much else has happened with Charon for a long time, though.
I've been very impressed with the work of folks such as Brian
Warner (Canopus), Herbert Raab (Astrometrica), and Bob Denny
(PinPoint). I've thought that the programs they have written
have made Charon obsolete, so I've been directing my efforts
elsewhere.
