Re: [guide-user] Findorb: missing observatory codes

Hi Roger,

The MPC updates that list from time to time. You can get
the current one at

http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/lists/ObsCodes.html

Save that to the folder where you're running Find_Orb, and
you should be all set. (Alan is right that you can save it as
'stations.txt'... but in more recent versions, I realized that
there was no good reason to require the renaming. I'd use the
above 'ObsCodes.html', though, not the 'ObsCodesF.html' that
Alan mentioned. The latter will only work if the file is saved
in text mode; otherwise, its hyperlinks will confuse Find_Orb.)

Also, when I update Find_Orb, I update its list of observatory
codes. (Well, at least when I remember to do so... and in between
updates, you still may find that you need to get the MPC list every
now and then.) The current version of Find_Orb has G68, plus some
other improvements you may find of interest. See

http://www.projectpluto.com/find_orb.htm

for details and the download.

Also, there's now a separate mailing list for Find_Orb at

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/find_orb/
