Hi Vincent,

All one should need to get binaries to show up correctly is to
download the current Guide update. The improvement in question
is described at

Note that the actual "orbit" isn't shown as an ellipse or
anything like that. Instead, the stars are simply shown at their
proper position angles/separations. If you animate with a large
enough step size (usually several years), then you can see the
stars orbiting one another.

Also, data on their separation/PA is given in 'more info'.

A little side note: one slight problem with the animation
procedure is that due to proper motion, the stars don't stay
nicely centered on the screen. They'll drift off as they orbit
one another. The way around this is to shut off proper motion,
as described at
