(Background for the curious: USNO B1.0 consumes about 80
GBytes and has therefore been distributed only on hard drives,
and has been tough to get hold of. A possible source was

Clay, I _think_ we got B1.0 working in Guide for your
system a while back, but Charon still doesn't support it.
You're right that it's been on the 'to do' list for a very
long time... as have some other things in Charon; not much
of anything has happened with that program for a while. I
will dig into it a bit. (It helps, of course, that I have
much of the code already written to access chunks of B1.0...
in fact, C source code is posted on the Web site:

Might be handy for anyone thinking of getting the data
and writing their own code to access it.)
