I've been able to use the 'd' command to download FTP
files. But not from the MPC site; in fact, it blocks my
app from getting files via http, too (at least, the few
that I've tried).

I think they're blocking downloads from certain ftp
clients. I don't know why. The little program I wrote to
grab files appears not to be on the 'permitted' list.
